Through Apr. 11 Dallas Blooms at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, is the largest floral festival in the South with more than 500,000 spring bulbs, 3,000 azaleas and thousands of other annuals and perennials throughout the 66-acre gardens. This year a 12-foot tall Ferdinand the Bull topiary will bring the classic children's tale to life. There are also children's activities, horticultural demonstrations and family entertainment. Mar. 13 The 31st Annual Greenville Ave. St. Patrick's Day Parade is the place to celebrate the "luck o' the Irish." The parade begins at 11 a.m. at Greenville and Park Lane with outrageous floats, colorful costumes and plenty of surprises. The parade ends at Yale Blvd. but the party continues until 5 p.m.Information: greenvilleave.org.

Mar. 13 DFW Family Expo is a family-life celebration in the Centennial Building at Fair Park with sections on Pregnancy & Infancy, Parties & Entertainment, Classes & Camps, Home & Family Resources, Green Living and a Marketplace. Mar. 14 Shake off the winter blues at the 3rd Annual ShamRock'n Roll in the West End. The fun starts at noon and lasts through 7 p.m. on Market Street. Headlining the main stage is Texas' Celtic rock band, The Killdares, and opening act, BeatleGras. Apr. 8-18 The Dallas International Film Festival spans 11 days and nights with feature films and shorts including contemporary international features, documentaries and short films. The festival is punctuated with red-carpet galas, receptions and family-friendly outdoor screenings. May 14-16 Wildflower! Festival blooms at Galatyn Park Urban Center in Richardson with a colorful array of entertainment, arts and fun. There's headline musical acts on two main stages as well as the Acoustic Café and Singer/Songwriter Stage. May 28-29 Liberty Fest, presented by the City of Farmers Branch, will pause to pay tribute to our country and the men and women that have served her. The two-day event will be centered around the area from Gussie Field Watterworth Park to Liberty Plaza and to the Farmers Branch Historical Park. Some of the events will include the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, Fishin' Fun, a Volksmarch, Rose Tours, an Outdoor Expo, American Traditions Historical Carnival and Midway, a Backyard Grill-Off, a Classic Car & Motorcycle Show, 7 on 7 Football Tournament and free concerts with REO Speedwagon and the Gin Blossoms.
